OmniTouch My Teamwork Land Mobile Radio Conferencing and Collaboration (LMRCC) Solution Presentation: March 2007 8AL020043188DMUSA
What is OmniTouch My Teamwork? • A full-featured, on-premise, software and browser-based, multimedia collaboration tool
My Teamwork: Conferencing and/or Collaboration Audio Conferencing with or without scheduling and IM interface Server dial-out Participant dial-in OR Data Conferencing Add video Add more participants Add data Add voice Conference
What is OmniTouch My Teamwork LMRCC? • Land Mobile Radios (LMR) • LMR devices are used by deployed field representatives and on site roamers in enterprises, institutional organizations, and emergency response groups • Using radio-to-SIP gateways, LMR networks can interconnect disparate radio devices on separate frequencies into a single voice conference • OmniTouch My Teamwork LMRCC • Enables any telephony device on traditional, VoIP, and next generation networks to collaborate within a single conferencing session using the SIP mixing capabilities inherent in OmniTouch My Teamwork • Extends OmniTouch My Teamwork multimedia collaboration features to disparate radio and telephone users in the field for audio only or multimedia sessions
Public Safety Solution • “80 percent of US cities surveyed do not have interoperable communications with the Department of Homeland Security and Justice Department. Sixty percent do not have interoperable capability with state emergency operation centers.” • United States Conference of Mayors Survey 2006 • Public safety/first responder agencies' projected telecom expenditures to • reach $2.83 billion by the year 2007, an impressive growth rate of 13.9 percent • Frost and Sullivan
Emergency Response Challenge: Interoperable Communications • Interagency and cross jurisdiction communications needed • Increasing frequency of natural disasters • Protecting public and private sector infrastructure and resources • Counter terrorism efforts and national security • Radio communication issues • Fragmented radio spectrum—US public safety groups operate in 10 different bands • Lack of commercial, standards-based technologies • Long life cycle with radio equipment and funding barriers lead to incompatible devices used across organizations • Range of devices and media used • Chain of command and remote subject experts outside the radio range use mobile phones and PDA • Video surveillance cameras for monitoring events and responding to situations • Critical data from pertinent groups—satellite imagery, geographic information, hazardous material data, and law enforcement mobile data terminals
The OmniTouch My Teamwork LMRCC Solution • Stakeholders, decision-makers, field staff, and subject matter experts collaborate in real-time to deliver a coordinated and effective response plan • Audio conferencing across devices • Supports multiple radios (legacy, current, or next generation) and phones (PSTN, SIP, mobile phone, Nextel, PBX, etc) • Integrates with existing radio equipment and network—hardware upgrades not required to deploy the solution • Supports mixed media conferencing environment • Data collaboration with instant messaging and document exchange to provide critical real-time data to field personnel • Web collaboration screen sharing provides joint viewing of maps, blueprints, weather radar screens, etc from multiple remote locations • Video conferencing adds video to a radio-telephone conference
OmniTouch My Teamwork Paging System (MPS) • OmniTouch MPS adds voice-over-IP overhead speakers to conferences • An audio conference may be projected to multiple overhead speakers at a single or different locations—speakers join as listen only participants • A PBX or radio set user may page a single or multiple overhead speakers at multiple sites or one location depending upon the alert content • Speaker devices are registered as extensions to the OmniPCX or other PBX • The speakers may be called directly by PBX sets or conferenced together using OmniTouch My Teamwork • For use on school campuses, hospitals, sporting stadiums, and hotels to deliver alerts in the event of an emergency situation

Case Study: Emergency Operations Center (EOC)—Hampton Roads, Virginia, USA Challenges • Port security for this coastal area • Communication limited to teleconferencing • No cross-jurisdictional communication supported • Radio users unable to participate in teleconferences Benefits • Integrated, multimedia communication across the regional EOCs • Radio users participate in emergency briefing and planning sessions • Coordinated regional support for state and national port security efforts • Disseminate timely emergency information to the public via local cable TV • Information sharing via data collaboration facilitates emergency planning and resource coordination • Recent use scenarios include hurricane preparation and communication, terrorist concern involving “vessel of interest” in regional port, monthly emergency managers briefing, and training exercises for emergency response Alcatel-Lucent Solution • OmniTouch My Teamwork with Polycom video conferencing • OmniTouch My Teamwork LMRCC with Raytheon radio equipment • MDR-8000 low-to-high capacity microwave digital radio network • Audio, Web, and video conferencing support for 16 jurisdictions, coast guard, and local cable TV
OmniTouch My Teamwork Audio Conferencing Features Browser-based GUI • GUI included, but not required for use • Without GUI, users have a dedicated meet me conference room • IM included with audio package • Windows, Unix, Macintosh • No client downloads • Record/playback • Synchronized audio playback • Playback through PC or telephone • Play recordings into conference • Microsoft Outlook™ support • Email invitations with embedded URLs for joining conference • Calendar entries • Conference calls • Scheduled, recurring, meet me, and ad hoc conferencing modes • Mixtures of PSTN and VoIP • Roll Call • Leader required and leaderless • Access codes: automatic or assigned • Delegates for scheduling • Lecture mode • Reservations • Webinar mode • Conference management • Mute, hold, drop, add • Dial out to participants • Remote access over SSL • Capacity notification • Conference locking
OmniTouch My Teamwork Full-Featured Data Conferencing • Presentation Sharing • Present Power Point, Word or Excel files • Pure HTML format not interactive • Application sharing • Interactive with any application • Share desktop or specific application • File download /upload • Any type of file • Store documents in virtual conference rooms • Recording • Presentation synchronized with audio
Radio Equipment Providers Raytheon is an Alcatel-Lucent AAPP member • Visit the AAPP Website for more information and the test report • For Raytheon product information visit http://www.jps.com Raytheon equipment includes the following • ACU-1000—Interconnects up to 24 devices and simultaneously cross-connect different radio networks, connect radio networks to telephone systems (or SATCOM systems) or network RoIP/VoIP talk paths. • ARA Device—Radio-to-SIP interface (comparable to an ATA device) allows a radio to operate on a SIP network. With this technology, for example, an LMR system can be used to extend the SIP network into areas of rugged terrain, across bodies of water or into tunnels. Future interoperability with other radio equipment providers is planned
