Population distribution is how and why population is spread across the landscape of India. Population distribution
- India's population is mainly located around the coast and the Ganges river. This is because of the Deccan Plateau makes central India hard to build on. Farming beside the Ganges river. Delhi, Kolkata and Ahmandabad are all examples of places with a high population. These places have high populations because they are all near coast lines which means they have access to a lot of resources and can ship things easier.
Places with hot and dry climates like the Thar Desert are not lived in because of the lack of resources available and the intense climate would kill people. It would also be very hard to grow crops because of the lack of water and the intense heat.

India's current population is 1,270,272,105 (1.27 billion). This is an increase of over 7 million people in only 2 years.
