Paid internships: Offer an hourly wage of at least $10, benefits and a career ladder. Offer paid interns same wage as employees in a comparable position. Provide opportunity for paid interns to transition to unsubsidized employment after satisfactory completion of the paid internship. How can I explore paid internship opportunities?: Contact your local department or DHR Central to provide a profile reflecting the proposed duties and the eligibility requirements Interview and select candidates based on referrals from the local department Enter into a hiring agreement with the local department Paid Internship Funds 10
Expected Outcomes For dollars invested, customers will receive: • Full array of services • Skills training in sectors where there are viable employment opportunities • Paid internships/apprenticeships • Linkages to permanent competitive wage jobs - Increased wage growth
