Important Dates May 8th – May 16th – Library Research days Monday, May 12th – Note Cards due at end of class Tuesday, May 13th - Outline due at end of class Friday, May 16th - Paper due at end of class (20 Points EC) Monday, May 19th – Final day to turn in paper. No papers will be accepted after this date unless you are absent on 5/19 then it is due the first day you return.

  3. What am I writing about? • The paper will include 5 paragraphs • Introduction, Biography, Historical Context, Importance, & Conclusion • Introduction • Topic sentence, thesis, intro sentences • Biography • This includes information like where they were from, family, school, career, etc.

What am I writing about? • Historical Context • What was happening in the world & the US during this person’s life? • What impact did it have on this person’s work, contributions, or successes • Importance • How did this person influence the US? • Do their contributions and/or successes have an impact today? Why? How? • Conclusion • Restate your thesis and conclude you ideas

  10. Remember the due dates Be aware of the due dates . Remember that if your note cards and/or outline are not turned in on time I will call home to let your parent/guardian know that you have not turned in that part and will have one day to complete it for ½ credit. Failure to turn it in after that will result in a zero for that part.
