Objectives • NM PED will recommend a specific science goal be included on each school and district EPSS by Fall 2010 • APS CAO will recommend to high school principals the awarding of letters for research competitions • Technical support will be provided to school staff on documenting academic competitions for media distribution • Each high and middle school hosts a school wide science and engineering research fair

Intel ISEF Educator Academy Reflection • The key learning from the Educator Academy that relates to our plan was how the Intel Teach program can support Goal 2 in providing technical assistance to teachers to increase the culture of academic inquiry in classrooms • The Shop Talks that was the most beneficial were the ones related to academic inquiry programs as a connection to post secondary institutions and research laboratories that should increase participation in academic competitions. • A type of Shop Talk missing for us had to do with specific example of how public schools and school districts develop successful plans for increasing participation in research competitions. • Would Intel consider developing Teach programs that would more directly support academic inquiry?
