Q411 Metrics Overall delivering more CPU (185%) and Disk (236%) than the MoU. Slight increase compared to earlier in the year, but major changes will come with the GridPp4 h/w tranche purchases Availability/reliability dropped at most sites; Why? CPU utilisation remains acceptable. SouthGrid January 2012

Future Resources • New MoU’s show lack of Storage space at Birmingham, and Jet, with a problem at Bristol in 2014 • Shortage of CPU at Birmingham by 2014. • This all assumes current levels of resources at sites. Old storage and CPU will come out of warrantee and be retired so new purchases need to maintain enough resource to cover the MoU commitments SouthGrid January 2012

DRI Grants • An unexpected bonus was the Digital Research Infrastructure Proposal. Work started in late October, and by the end of the year we had submitted grant requests for a total of £3m.
Procurement deadlines etc • Both the GridPP4 h/w grant and the DRI money must be spent before the end of this Financial Year ie 31st March 2012. • Orders had better be made now or very soon. • Invoices should be paid before 31st March 2012 SouthGrid January 2012
Sussex • Suspended or Candidate sites • Later this week, sites in suspended or Candidate state for longer than 6 months will be closed - COD has collected a list of exceptions from NGIs. This does not affect any GridPP site, except maybe Sussex. I note that as per https://ggus.eu/ws/ticket_info.php?ticket=78177, Sussex is set as 'Uncertified', (my memory says it used to be 'Candidate', although I can't recall what the difference between the two is right now). • Plans to grid enable…. Conclusions • SouthGrid sites utilisation level except maybe RALPP? • JET will be setup for ATLAS production new h/w will help. • RALPPD still our lead site. • Sussex, Warwick and Swansea had DRI money, what will this lead to? • Main goal at the moment is to spend the two grants asap.
