Big Dipper • visible in night sky without telescope or binoculars • seven prominent stars • can spot Northern Star from Big Dipper • Orion • featured on February 17th • some of the brightest stars in the sky in Orion • Includes Orion’s shield • Taurus • the bull • Y shaped pattern • large red star marks the bulls eye. • Leo • Leo the lion • featured on March 10th • its two brightest stars mark opposite ends of the constellation • Little Dipper • also visible with naked eye • very similar to Big Dipper • Gemini • featured on January 14th • found in the east sky • two brightest stars represent twins
