WorldCat Local “quick start” delivers your library's resources and resources of the world's libraries in a single search result
What do you get with WorldCat Local "quick start"? • Display of your library's holdings first in search results, followed by the holdings of other WorldCat libraries • Local branding of a WorldCat search box, URL and user interface • Links to an existing OpenURL resolver • Single-search access to WorldCat and the electronic resource content you purchase from OCLC • Integration of existing OCLC delivery/interlibrary loan services (VDX, WorldCat Resource Sharing)
Interoperability with a single local library catalog for real-time item availability information and place holds • Direct link to item availability in library OPACs, which supports user access to materials in non-interoperable ILSs • Access to the same social networking tools available on WorldCat.org – Lists, Reviews, Tags etc. • Mobile-optimised views for iOS and Android phones with basic functionality such as location, shelf status, call number and the ability to place a hold or request an item
