University of Lincoln Credentials • NCFM - Food industry specialists specialising in Apprenticeships with a seamless progression from FE into HE • Active in the development of new standards/EPAs • Launched new standards at 2,3,5 and 6 in September 2017 (NCFM and LIBS) • Launched Nursing Apprenticeships in April 2018 • Launching level 5 and 6 Food Engineering in 18/19 • Due to launch level 7 in 2019 • Grade 2 Ofsted February 2018

The challenges • Employer ownership enrolling the right staff • Student journey development with the employer • Evidence supporting that standards are job role driven and that data intelligence has led to operational decisions • 20% off the job • Timescales of delivery (GLH) affecting time off the job • Issues with GDPR compliance

  4. Challenge for the public sector • Imbalance in supply and demand for new recruits • Performance data (KPIs inc. retention and success rates) • Poor remuneration • Complex funding and administration • Complex decision making processes

  5. Challenge’s cont. • Political priorities • Stakeholder involvement can be complex • Progression Opportunities compared to the private sector • Procurement processes may be a barrier
