2. What is a volcano? In reality a volcano is basically a mountain full of lava coming from the earth core. The lava come from the earth mantle when the lave reach the earth surface and cool down.

3. How does a volcano form? • Most volcanoes are formed by the movement of tectonic plates slamming against each other and moving away from each other on the surface of the earth. These plates are basically huge pieces of rock on the mantle .The tectonic plates are in constant motion, although in a very slow motion. They sometimes move toward each other, other times they’ll move apart, and still other times one will sink while the other rises above it.

4. Famous Volcano in Italy Mt. Vesuvius, the active volcano that looms over the Bay of Naples in southern Italy, has erupted well over 30 times that we know of. And yet its most famous eruption took place all the way back in A.D. 79, when a multiday eruption of lava and ash covered the cities of Pompeii and Stabiae in ash. Pliny the Younger, author of the only surviving eyewitness account, described a sudden explosion followed by blankets of ash that fell on people as they tried to escape. The total number of Vesuvius' victims will most likely never be known, but archeologists are aware of at least 1,000.

Summary • Volcano are mountains on fire that’s spitting out lava cause by tectonics plates. • When the plates move toward each other pushing the lava on the surface. • When the plates moving away from each other the lava slip out of the cracks • Volcanos can be found on continental and oceanic crust. • Volcanos are mostly found next to plate boundaries.
