Steps to Finding & Assessing Information • Translate your clinical situation into a formal framework for a searchable question (Session 1) • Choose source(s) to search (Session 2) • Search your source(s) (Session 2) • Assess the resulting articles (documents) • Therapy documents (Session 3) • Diagnosis documents (Session 4) • Systematic reviews/comparing documents (Session 5) • Decide if you have enough information to make a decision, repeat 1-4 as needed (ICM, clinical rotations, internship, residency) (Session 6)

Final Exam - Overview • “Open book” exam • Based on course slides, examples, and useful links • Other material ok • Do not discuss/consult with others regarding the questions • Format: • 41 multiple choice, 5 fill in the blanks • On-line • Due on-line Wednesday Nov 12th by 5P
Final Exam – Logistics (I) • Exam available after class today (Wed 11/5 at 5P) • Link to on-line exam will be at http://courses.washington.edu/midm/schedule.htm • You can print out exam to work on off line • Note: you must still submit answers on-line • It is strongly recommended you log into exam and save/retrieve your exam by Friday (if you have not done so with the “test” exam) • Please make sure by Friday 11/5 that you are able to access the on-line exam using the username and password given to you on MyGrades • If you have problems e-mail Deven Hamilton (dth2@u.washington.edu) with URGENT MIDM in header
Final Exam – Logistics (II) • Other Tips: • A certificate warning will pop up twice during the login process. You can either accept it temporarily each time or you can accept the certificate permanently. • Each time you leave the exam be sure to save your work using “Save” button. Don’t just close your web browser or your answers will be lost. • When you log back into your exam remember to check the box by “Show list of any unfinished assessments” • Submitting the exam: • After you answer the last question (#46 of 46) and have double checked your answers click on the “Submit” button • Questions?
