CIG 3 Traffic Information when Problems Occur Copenhagen Mogen Kjøller Helsinki Tarja Jääskeläinen Elina Maunuksela Oslo Tore Bogen Stockholm Anne-Charlotte Eklund Vienna René Assinger Simone Galler
Itinerary • Vienna June 28 • Oslo August 27 • Helsinki September 17 • Stockholm November 29 • Copenhagen January 31
FindingsTecnical systems • Tecnical systems, i.e loudspeakers and electronic signs, are often old and not working properly. • Not enough loudspeakers and signs. These channels are expensive and it takes time to reach full supply. • A lot of focus on self-service; internet and mobile services
FindingsField staff • The field staff members ought to be an important source of information. • All too often there is no well-functioning way to keep them updated. • In general, they have not had enough training in what to say and how to act in case of disturbances.
FindingsProcess and organization Not enough interaction
Findings in general • Although efforts have been made in this field, especially in recent years, the passengers generally are not satisfied. • No quick ready-made solution
What to target • The process – comprehensive • The organization – support the process • Tools and tecnical systems • Goals • Follow-up
Plans for future activities in the CIG 3 • Visit to Stockholm November 29 • Visit to Copenhagen January 31 • Start summing-up and outline the work on a report from CIG 3. February 1.
