Model Placement Professional Peer Review BTU Professionals who registered for the Model Process • Completed a Model Profile • Scored 80 or above • Placed on the Model Pathway for 5 years Cohort registration is required. Alternative Placement BTU Professionals who met the following criteria by June 30, 2011 • Conferred Masters +30 • 10 or more years in BCPS • 2 Proficient Evaluations in the past 3 years • Placed on the Model Pathway for 3 years This was a ONE TIME initial contract provision.

Model Roles & Responsibilities(MR&R)are non-stipended duties performed beyond the normal job to help learners, school and/or district increase performance. Open Practice to Colleagues Serve on PPRCs categories Facilitate Programs Serve in School Leadership

Model Support Talk about the types of support you feel will help you best serve learners, school, and district to improve overall achievement. • Would you attend trainer sessions to learn how to effectively open your practice? • What concerns would you need addressed to successfully facilitate programs for your school or the district? • What type of professional development or training, outside of college coursework, do you feel you need to serve in school leadership?
Preparing for MR&R Conference The model professional should … • think of the school needs as it relates to learner achievement, influencing the practice of colleagues, and supporting stakeholders. • consider activities and/or programs to meet the school needs. • select one need they feel they will best be able to make a positive impact. • make an appointment with their administrator or direct supervisor to agree upon MR&R to achieve one goal as it relates to an identified school need.
Jigsaw Activity • In a small group, talk about the needs you see in your school or department as it relates to the category assigned to your group. • Choose one of the needs discussed by the group and identify a single goal that can be obtained in one school year. • Brainstorm activities/programs you could engage to support your learners, colleagues, or school to meet the identified goal. (This process does not apply to PPRC.) • CATEGORIES • Open Practice to Colleagues • Serve as a Program Facilitator • Serve in School Leadership • PPRC member • GOALS • Increase learner achievement • Influence the practice of colleagues • Support stakeholders 10 minutes
