4-Week Continuation of Literacy Practicum The student teacher will. . . Week 1—plan and teach reading (HLGU lesson plans required). Week 2—continue planning and teaching reading, then add planning and teaching of math (HLGU lesson plans required for math). Weeks 3 & 4—continue planning and teaching reading and math, then add additional subjects at the discretion of the Cooperating Teacher.
4-Week Stand-Alone Placement The student teacher will . . . Week 1—observe class for 2 days to learn students’ names, behaviors, and routines. Interact with students and assume responsibility for brief segments of teaching and/or supervising (small group instruction, reteaching, morning routine, bathroom breaks, attendance, etc.) Week 2—assume planning and teaching responsibility for one subject area or one class. HLGU lesson plan form required.
Week 3—assume planning and teaching responsibility for second subject area or second class. HLGU lesson plan form required only for added area or class. Shortened lesson plan form may be used for continued subject or class. Week 4--continue planning and teaching Week 2 and 3 responsibilities, then add additional subjects or classes at the discretion of the Cooperating Teacher

HLGU lesson plan form required for 5 days of newly added area or class.
Weeks 6 - 11—Continue full teaching responsibilities. Week 12—Continue teaching responsibilities, unless the end of a unit of study makes a logical break for the classroom teacher to reassume teaching.
