Youth Aviation Adventure Introducing young people to the exciting world of aviation! • The Youth Aviation Adventure Program (YAA) was founded in Columbus, Ohio in 1997 by Dan Kiser and Steve Wathen. • Each program typically attracts 150-200 participants. • Currently, YAA has over one hundred pilot and other adult volunteers. • Kids spend about twenty minutes at each of the nine stations where they participate in discussions and activities. • YAA program as a modular, inexpensive, repeatable system that can be transplanted and duplicated anywhere.

Real Tools • Pro/ENGINEER Schools Edition 3D (CAD) software, each license of Pro/ENGINEER is worth $3,000, since each teacher will receive 300 licenses that is a donation of $900,000 per teacher. • Windchill Global Engineering collaboration software: The commercial value of Windchill ProjectLink is $2,800 per seat. Each school team will get seven seats worth $19,600. • Engineering Fluid Dynamics (EFD.Pro) is a new breed of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software produced by Mentor Graphics. This fluid dynamics simulation software. Each participating school will be provided with one license of EFD.Pro for FREE. The commercial value of EFD.Pro is $24,500. Each school team will get one license.
5.Real Roles • Student teams are built around real industry roles such as project manager, scientist, engineer, and community relations & marketing. 6. Real Contribution • Contribute innovative solutions to real industry design problems. The US Department of Energy will provide travel support for the winning teams travel to Washington, DC.
