  4. Objectives • Some students will be able to apply concept of ratio and proportion to word problems • Most students will be able to understand the concept to solve simple ratio and proportions problems • All students will be able to write a ratio and understand the meaning of the ratio

Find the missing number. • If the Marshall boys basketball team averaged 48.6 pts/game in 20 games. In their 21st game, their average rose t0 50.00 pts/game. How many points did they score in game21?

Vocabulary • Data Set – the group of numbers/ or the information • Mean – the average of a data set • Median – the number that falls in the middle when the data is arranged order from least to greatest • Mode – the number that occurs most often • What is the purpose of using these measures? The purpose is to compare different data sets.
