  1. University of Oregon World CupTournament

  2. U of O World Cup • April 16th and 17th 2011 • The UOWC is a highly competitive soccer tournament for students, local teams, and collegiate athletes in the Northwest. The UOWC represents students from the Warsaw Sports Business Club. The tournament is in its seventh year of operation and with the help of corporate and community partners we raise over $2,000 in charitable donations annually. This year, the tournament will be working with the Eugene Metro Futbol Club (EMFC) to help their youth scholarship program.

  3. Equipment • Shin guards are mandatory in all games and must be covered with socks. Players shall not wear anything that is dangerous to him or her self or any other players. Soft casts are permitted, but game referees will have final say on any potential danger in permission to play. • “Field Managers” will conduct an equipment and registration check of all players before the start of each game. • Referees should still inspect player equipment for safety

  4. “Game Management” • Home team for each game will be listed first or left in the official game schedules. • Player numbers must be visible to the referees. Tournament Staff will write player numbers on the left hand of players not wearing numbered uniforms. • Game referee will submit final game report of score and bookings to tournament staff. • Game referee may delay or suspend a match for weather or other circumstances. Consequences of suspended game will be determined by tournament director.

  5. FIFA Laws will govern Tournament Play with the following modifications: • Length of Game • Collegiate – All games will consist of two 45 minute halves with a five minute half time. • Recreational – All games will consist of two 25 minute halves with a five minute half time. • Substitutions • Unlimited substitutions may be made with the discretion of the referee at any dead ball.

  6. Yellow and Red Cards • Any player or coach that is sent off will be required to leave the field on which their team is playing. • If a player is issued a straight red card they are sent off for the remainder of the game and cannot play in the team’s next game. • If a player is issued a second yellow card in the same game they are shown a red card and sent off for the remainder of the game but can play in the team’s next game. • If both the team captain and the co-captain are sent off the team must assign a new captain. • Bookings do not accumulate from game to game.

  7. Profanity • Profanity directed at a player, coach, referee, spectator, or tournament staff is dealt with under the FIFA laws of the Game. • There is no sanction for incidental profanity. • Forfeits • Forfeiture of a game will be determined by the referee if either team does not have enough players to compete, five minutes after the scheduled start time. • The forfeit winner of a non-contested game will receive points based on a 1-0 victory.

Referees • Referee conduct will be under the jurisdiction of the onsite referee commissioner and not the Tournament Director of Tournament Committee. • Collegiate – 3 man referee system will be utilized. • Recreational – 2 man referee system will be utilized. • The recreational division may be coed and should be refereed as a rec game, eg. Less skilled, less contact.

  10. * All Saturday games can end in a tie. • Tie-Breaking Procedure (Sunday Games Only) • The Commissioner will inform referees of games that require a winner. • In the event a game cannot end in a tie the following system will be in place: • Two golden-goal periods of five minutes • Penalty Kicks

  11. All additional issues will be handled by Tournament Director. • Tournament Policies • No food or drink other than water is allowed on the Turf Fields.
