  3. SIP APPLICATION SERVERS • What is a SIP Application Server ? • A network entity that speaks SIP • AND IS PROGRAMMABLE !!!

Technologies - CPL CPLhttp://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3880.html • CPL stands for CALL PROCESSING LANGUAGE • XML call behaviour scripting • Protocol Agnostic • Loaded and executed in a container • Allows basic (non interactive) predefined modification of call behaviour based on time criteria, address criteria or network signalling criteria • With CPL you can do things like “forward all my calls to voicemail if I’m not available, the caller is my girlfriend and is Friday” • OpenSER provides CPL implementation module
