UIC 8th World Congress on HSR – Philadelphia 2012 • Global event organized by UIC and APTA with support from Amtrak, AAR, FRA, and VIA Rail Canada • Amtrak is hosting a welcome reception at 30th Street Station, as well as tours of its HSR mechanical facility in Sunnyside, NY and its dispatching and training centers in Wilmington, DE. • Expect up to 1,000 worldwide attendees to exchange views on development and achievements of high-speed rail • Will include internationally selected speakers, a trade exhibition, technical tours and networking activities • Amtrak and APTA are looking for student volunteers to help staff the congress. • http://uic-highspeed2012.com/ 8
