2. T&L Hubs- The set up • There are 5 calendared Teaching and Learning meetings this academic year. These involve all staff, grouped into hubs, cross curricular and cross phase who meet regarding a specific area of pedagogy. • The idea behind this is that CPD is more valuable if concentrated on one area of specific practice that is revisited over a longer period of time. • There is also the opportunity for staff to engage in action based research with their colleagues at SRS and also across partnership schools. • This work will be disseminated through department meetings and spotlight briefing sessions throughout the year.

Planning the meetings • Every monthly TLC workshop could follow the same structure and sequence of activities: • Activity 1: Starter activity (5 minutes) • Activity 2: Feedback (10 minutes) • Activity 4: New learning (25 minutes) • Activity 5: Personal action planning (15 minutes) • Activity 6: Review of learning (5 minutes)

5. Digital Leaders A school for the 21st century in our new surroundings, we must embrace the new technology that enhances T&L. QR codes, Aurasma, Infographics, Class Blogging etc participants in this group would be trialling these with their classes. Some schools have "BYOD" 'Bring your own device' days, they also have policies and protocols for such events so this is something this group could also look at. Literacy Leaders • A whole school approach to literacy (Chris Hildrew) • Developing oracy skills (Shaun Allison) • David Didau's Literacy Archive (David Didau) • Connections between English and Maths (Kris Boulton) • Literacy Toolkit • Improving literacy in secondary schools (Ofsted) • Developing Literacy through Maths (Shaun Allison) An area of focus for all teachers regardless of subject specialism. I know Louise, our curriculum leader for English is working on a whole school Literacy policy and for this group, the focus would be the promotion of literacy across all subjects/ year groups and how we best achieve this. Literacy through Maths, through Science etc. Also this group should focus on developing our student’s oracy skills.

So this group will focus on strategies developing our students as independent learners. 

8. Stretch & Challenge leaders • So what does gifted mean anyway? (David Didau) • Deliberately difficult focussing on learning rather than progress(David Didau) • What’s deep learning and how do you do it?(David Didau) • Gifted and Talented Provision A total philosophy(Tom Sherrington) • Great Lessons 3: Challenge (Tom Sherrington) A focus on 'stretch and challenge' for all, not just the more able. Though some within these groups may like to take on the G&T specifically as an area of focus. How we identify them? Where it is recorded on a subject specific basis? What provision is available for them? Also the promotion of Higher Order Thinking and critical thinking skills

9.
