What is eThority? • eThority is the bridge between complex data sources and easy to understand user interfaces. Customizable so it is easily able to satisfy the needs of users simply wanting to access standard reports, or for users who require extensive data mining and report generation capabilities.
Benefits of eThority • Costs vs. Vista for reconciliation purposes • University wide resources of actual daily users • Give PI’s up-to-date information on their spending • Know status of project accounts ending • Much easier to manipulate than other reporting tools. • Contains financial and HR information • Create reports for historic, current or future predictions • Can use as a trigger tool

Reports • Current Reconciliation Reports • Account Balance Summary and Account Detail Prior Month • Budget or Cash • Current or Previous FY’s • Projects with balance >$10k ending next 90 days • Trigger • I-9 Expiration • Appointment end dates in next 90 days • Use of restricted object codes • Revenue/expense on sub funds • Auto reports • GENOP/RECHAR end of month balances • 13/14/16 monthly balances • Auto Charges – weekly • FRS Data (2004-2009)

Trigger Report ExampleExternal Revenue on DCESUP Accts Report is emailed when a trigger is set. In this case, nothing would happen, because there are no transactions.
Utilizing eThority How would we create a projection of expense report… • Open up PDI Dept Acct Projection • Choose a department account (budget based) • What we see now: • Current Budget • Actual Exp through 11/30/11 • Roll Forward Limit at 6/30/12 Let’s Create a Powerfield…
PowerFields What is our Average Monthly Expense? • Powerfields • Add eXpressionPowerField
PowerFields • Field Name: Avg Mo Exp • Data Type: Currency • Use this Expression – Edit
PowerFields • Column Name = Actual • User Values – Custom Value = 5 • Change sign to / • Click OK
PowerFields • Click Test • Once receive “The expression syntax is valid” click OK and Click Save
PowerField What is our yearly projected expenses? • Follow the same steps previously to create a PowerField that determines your Projected expenses for the current fiscal year.
PowerFields What is the Over/Under Budget? • Follow the same steps previously to create a PowerField that determines your Over/Under Budget
