Ronald Raevsky is an artist, painter, and creative expressionist. He was born in the rural landscapes of Maysel, West Virginia. He grew up on his family’s small estate in the heart of West Virginia, and even as a child his family would venture out into nature engaging in activities like horse riding, trekking, and camping. The wonders of nature and it’s beauty held his attention from a very young age. He was about 8 years old when he painted his first landscape, and it took his family by surprise because they had no inclination that their son had this talent.
His mom entered his painting in a children’s art contest that was being held in Charleston, and Ronald Raevsky was declared the winner. Inspired by nature and the beautiful sceneries around him, he painted many spell binding landscapes. His ability to translate what he saw on to canvas was nothing short of a miracle, especially for his family who have witnessed him while painting.
After he finished high school, he decided that he wanted to learn as much as he could about his hobby. He enrolled in a B.F.A. studio art program at the New York University School of Art. After spending four years learning about and mastering art, he graduated in the top 5% of his class.
After graduation, Ron spent a few more years in NY working at a graphic design firm. While this job paid the expenses, it was not really what his heart desired. Nevertheless, he waited for a better opportunity to come along. Whenever he would have some free time, he would visit his home town of Maysel.
It was during one of these visits he met a wealthy gentleman who was interested in having Ronald Raevsky create paintings that he would sell on his website. Without much thought, he accepted the offer because it would allow him to indulge in painting, and it also gave him a chance to come back home.
