  2. Going Back Law School Dianne McDonald, Esq. Bucknell University, Pre-Law Advisor Dianne is the pre-law advisor at Bucknell University where she also serves as a lecturer in the School of Management. Dianne began her legal career practicing in a general civil law firm in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, where she handled matters involving small businesses, domestic relations, and real estate. Following her marriage Dianne’s legal career took a circuitous path reflecting her alter-career as a navy wife. While traveling this path she added a license to practice law in Illinois and earned a Master’s in Education from the University of MD. She had the opportunity to be involved in a variety of legal issues ranging from business reorganizations, insurance-defense litigation, and contract issues on behalf of the military while working for the Department of Defense. Dianne earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of GA and her law degree from Loyola Law School. In addition to her experiences as an attorney, she has also worked as an educator.

  3. Going Back Law School Doug DiMedio Fordham University Law School Student Doug DiMedio graduated from Bucknell University in 2001 with a degree in Computer Science. He spent the next two years working for Decisive Business Systems, as an outside sales representative. In 2004, Doug went to work for his family-owned building material supply company, where he created and managed a new manufacturing division. In 2008, Doug moved to New York City, where he opened Siena Kitchens, LLC., a supplier of kitchen cabinetry and ancillary products. Doug enrolled at Fordham University School of Law in 2011, where he is simultaneously working towards a Master in Business Administration at Fordham’s business school. At Fordham, he has had the opportunity to earn a place on a law journal, as well as represent the moot court team in national competitions. He has also found internship opportunities at Samsung in Seoul, Korea in the summer of 2012, and he currently works at the Southern District of New York Bankruptcy Court for the Honorable Burton Lifland.

Going Back Law School Diane Sliverman Columbia Law School Career Services Diane graduated from Bucknell University in 2006, where she received a B.A. in Psychology and Political Science.  After graduation, Diane began working as the Legal Recruitment Coordinator in the New York office of the international law firm Allen & Overy LLP.  She coordinated the hiring of entry-level and lateral attorneys, as well as summer associates in New York, London, and Hong Kong.  For the past four years, Diane has worked at Columbia Law School in the Office of Career Services.  In 2012, she became the Assistant Director of Recruiting and manages four annual legal recruitment programs for over 1,500 J.D. and LL.M. students.  She also handles all communications with employers for programming and events, as well as engages in new employer outreach.  

  5. Going Back Law School George Ward, Esq. Deputy Chief, Arlington Office of Chief Counsel U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Department of Homeland Security Mr. Ward supervises a team of attorneys that litigate administrative cases before the Executive Office of Immigration Review and provide legal advice to ICE’s operational components. Before becoming Deputy Chief, he served in various positions in the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, including Chief of the District Court Litigation and Legislative Counsel. Mr. Ward started working in immigration in New York City where he represented INS in deportation and removal cases. Mr. Ward began his legal career in 1993 as a prosecutor in Nassau County. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Ward was a Compliance Analyst/Auditor with Shearson, Lehman, Hutton. He also worked as a stockbroker for a small investment firm. Mr. Ward graduated from Bucknell University in 1988 with a BA in Economics and from St. John’s University School of Law, in New York in 1993. Now in oneof his most rewarding and challenging roles, Mr. Ward is the proud father of four.
