  4. Step 1: Identify Key Stakeholders To identify process stakeholders: • Brainstorm the participants involved in the process • Qualify the list by ascertaining the role the stakeholder plays in the process • Determine how they will be impacted by potential change.

  5. Step 1: Identify Key Stakeholders • During our QIP Overview sessions we discussed the Burger Depot and its desire to eliminate complaints about cold food and inefficient order processing. • Does anyone recall some of the stakeholders of the Burger Depot example?

  6. Step 1: Identify Key Stakeholders • Brainstorming Steps: • Select a team member to capture all ideas on a flip chart. • All ideas are documented. You can qualify their actual involvement later on. • Everyone is encouraged to actively participate. • Activity: Brainstorm the key stakeholders in the New Hire process.

  7. Step 1: Identify Key Stakeholders • Qualify Your List • The stakeholder analysis requires understanding of the stakeholders role in the process and how they are impacted by the process. • When considering roles, think about whether the stakeholder is a customer or supplier in the process. • Customer receives value or output from the process. • Supplier performs the activities that create the value for the customer. • Understanding at a high-level how the stakeholder is impacted by the process helps you identify the nature of their involvement in the process and its importance to them. • Keep in mind, this list can change and should be updated based on the information you receive in Step 2: Document the Current Process
