Changes to prices • Insurances to Schools • The combined liability insurance is being increased in 2014-15 by 20p to £5.50 per pupil and the buildings (fire) insurance is being increased by 5p to 90p per m2. In both cases the insurance providers used to provide the policy have put the premiums up as a result of previous claims and we have to pass these increases on. • Base SIMS • Base SIMS costs are increasing by 10%. This is due to CIPTA increasing the cost of the SIMS licence, and this increase has to be passed on to schools. • Treasury and Income and Payments Service • The treasury and income and payment service for schools is increasing by 5%, this service has not increased its costs for several years although the volumes of invoices being processed has been steadily increasing. This service has now had to increase the cost to cover the additional staffing that has been needed to ensure that all the invoices can continue to be processed in a timely fashion. • Governor Clerking • The level 1 service has been increased by 6% and level 2 by 7% due to increases in volumes. • Broadband • The broadband pricing model has completely changed. It is now price by connection type not pupil numbers. Additionally we have capped the charge at 2013/14 rate so that if a school's charge would have risen under the new rates then the cap comes in to play. Therefore no school will see an increase in price but some schools may see a decrease in the cost of this service.
