Adiet rich in carbohydrates and proteins and low in fat and high in fibre are generally recommended. Also, intake of tea/coffee is to be reduced, while alcohol intake is completely banned. Consuming large quantities of fresh fruits during the first thirty days of treatment, particularly grapes, dates and apples, helps limit desires. Consuming plenty of food containing vitamin B6 such as nuts, whole grains and green vegetables are advised. Finally, remember that recovering from any addiction is not an easy task, and requires plenty of patience, intervention and support of family and friends.
