The problem: • Technical divisions and groups should provide performance reports each year so that the VP can determine the success of each division in meeting the Technical Communities’ strategic goals. • The issue is that this activity is NOT Happening
Initiative Overview • Initiative Each Technical Group shall have a Group Operating Board Meeting just prior to LTC (this consists of all division chairs or their representative and is lead by the Technical Group Leader (TGL)) • Rationale The TGL shall require an annual report at this Operating Board meeting from each division. The associated peer pressure will effect the writing of this report using the template existing in the Technical Communities Operation Guide.
Assumptions/Risks Assumptions: • Division Chairs may not be aware of their responsibility to provide a report. • Financial incentives would not be a workable approach • The Group must live within the current structure of K&C where the TGL’s are responsible for so many divisions Risks/Obstacles: • The cost to ASME for the one additional day just prior to LTC • Additional Member time and effort
Action Plan (use add’l slides as needed) Metric: • Getting approval for the allocation • Number of Division Reports Submitted Tasks: • Approval for the additional day at LTC • Include Annual Report in the OB Meeting Agenda Schedule: • June request for inclusion • Month before LTC Responsibility: • VP TC • TGL
Resources Needed Resources: • Volunteer Officer Leadership Training (VOLT) • Funds from K&C Sector • TC & TGL’s • Technical Group Leaders
Results - success indicators (measures) and their metrics (targets) Success Indicators (measures) Reports from Divisions Metrics (targets) 100%
Marketing and Reporting Marketing Plan: • Advertise the requirement (e-mail and feedback – “Ask who is coming the TCOB meeting.” • Advertise to Divisions leaders that the day before LTC will be nominal as the travel is 100% covered, and the per diem is only an additional $100 for the additional day Reporting Plan: • The Group Leader to the Technical Group Operating Board on the Reports received
