Economic Development • Downtown properties have been renovated, and aregenerating increased property tax revenue • The success of the Cumberland A&E District program has helped to spark additional private investment in Downtown • Expanded arts programming has generated new economic opportunities for area artists and other local businesses • A vibrant arts community has generated fresh perspectives,new creative energy, and an enhanced quality of life • The arts have helped to re-define the City’s image, andhave generated positive regional and national exposure
What’s Next? Strengthen our brand as a regional arts destination Create mutually advantageous linkages between thetwo A&E Districts in Cumberland and Frostburg Re-energize our Artist Relocation program (Google Ad Words) Develop new and innovative arts programming Cultivate the next generation of artists and arts patrons Continue to play a leadership roll in the community Share our success stories with others
