  2. Professional Association • The Association of Business Process Management Professionals • non-profit, vendor independent • dedicated to the advancement of business process management concepts and its practices. • ABPMP is practitioner-oriented and practitioner-led.

Our Mission • The mission of ABPMP is: • to promote the practice of business process management, • to develop a Common Body of Knowledge for BPM • to contribute to the advancement and skill development of professionals who work in this discipline. • ABPMP produces educational and networking events for continuing education and sharing of best practices, new ideas, and experiences of its members and professional colleagues.

  4. CBPP Examination • A test for practitioners! • Experience based. • It is not a test of the CBOK, but CBOK questions will be on the test • Purpose is to test for competence in multiple areas of BPM • concepts, methods, techniques, tools and standards

  5. Beta Examination • purpose: to calibrate the exam (through psychometric evaluation) • The beta test is free and no-risk • Those who pass can convert the test to full certification • Conversion is ½ the regular exam fee: • Members $200 • Non-Members $275 • No application fee (normally $50)

  6. Chicago Beta Exam • Chicago is one of 3 chapters participating in the beta testing program • Exam is 170 Multiple-Choice questions • 4 hours allowed • Exam Review on June 13th • Testing on June 17th or June 20th • Accepting applications now • must have 4 years of BPM experience • Must sign the ABPMP code of ethics

Experience • This is a certification for BPM practitioners • Business process experience can be any combination of: • BPM strategy • process modeling /analysis /design • process improvement /redesign /reengineering /transformation, • process performance measurement/management, • rules definition, • SOA/EAI design, • ESB design, • enterprise architecture, etc.  • Using any or no method, Six Sigma, Lean, etc. is okay as long as it is to redesign the business operation. • Practitioners are defined as either staff in a business improvement project or the project's management.

CBPP Examination Sections • Business Process Management • Process Modeling and Analysis • Process Design and Transformation • Process Performance Management • Process Organization and Change Management • Enterprise Process Management • Business Process Management Systems These sections do not map directly to the CBOK We want feedback from those who take the test

  10. Schedule • June 13th Saturday – 8:30 to 4:00 Exam Review Workshop • June 15th Monday – application deadline for the June 17th test • June 17th Wednesday – First CBPP beta exam • June 17th Wednesday – application deadline for the June 20th test • June 20th Saturday – Second CBPP beta exam

  11. Experience • 4 years BPM experience (or 5,000 hours) • Credits (can substitute up to 2,500 hrs) • Undergraduate degree - 1 yr (1,000 hrs) credit • Graduate degree - ½ yr (500 hrs) credit • Professional Certification - ½ yr (500 hrs credit) • References
