Analysis • If our country had no Executive Branch of government, then the President would be like a King. The senate would not be able to override him in any way. If the President does not like any of the laws that would be made; then we would only be the country that he wants. He could influence judges and people to do whatever he wanted them to. This is what would happen if we did not have an Executive Branch.
Egypt • After many days of protesting, Egyptian people have taken to the streets of Cairo to clean up Tahir Square. The protesting went on because Mubarak had been in office for over 20 years. The people had finally had enough of him abusing his power. His actions speak for themselves, he held “Democratic” elections every year, but always seemed to be in office even if they did not want him there.

Presidency Powers • The President is the commander-in-chief of the armed forces. • The President has the power to grant a full or conditional pardon. • Make foreign treaties, with two-thirds consent of the Senate. • Deliver a State of the Union address to Congress.
Checks & BalancesChecks & Balances helpkeep branches from abusing their power The President can veto laws that congress makes. Congress can override his veto with a 2/3 majority vote. The President appoints federal judges and ambassadors. He can call congress to special sessions to talk about international issues.
Department of Justice Responsibilities Enforces the U.S. Government's laws. Protects on the state and nationallevel. Give punishments to those who have exhibited unlawful behavior. Enforce immigration laws.
Law Enforcement • There are more than 900,000 sworn law enforcement officers in the United States. • 12% of our law enforcement officers are female.
Department of Defense Responsibilities • Provides military forces, such as the Navy and Air Force. • Defends for our country. • The Department of Defense has led to many Legislative Changes
