  1. Technique -Use a medium stroke, your racket arm should move forward and downwards in the direction that the ball is going to travel. -Your free arm should point towards the ball to assist with your body turn and balance. Backhand Chop Tips -Use your wrist to add spin. -Push of with your legs to add more power to your backhand chop.

  2. Backhand Drive Too easy? Add Topspin. Topspin is produced by starting your stroke below and/or behind the ball and brushing the ball in an upward and forward motion. Why use spin? -The forward spin will increase the downward pressure on the ball, so after it bounces on the table it will stay low and accelerate forwards.

  3. Forehand Chop The forehand chop is a defensive stroke played away from the table. It is mainly used by defenders but can also be incorporated into an attackers game when forced away from the table.

  4. Forehand Drive The forehand drive is an attacking stroke played with a small amount of topspin. Technique Keep the upper arm closeto your body. Turn waist with your arm. Shift your body weight forwards when you contact the ball. Return to ready position quickly.
