  3. Groupon’s Offer • Offer to customer - Onions @ Rs 9/kg. - Delivery within 10 days • Offer to salt and soap - Opportunity to be a part of the marketing campaign by ensuring that the brand name is present in the delivery packets

Managing the Logistics….1/3 • Procurement of Onion • Procurement from Metro Cash and Carry on the 8th day which they would be delivering us on 9th day morning packed in one kg pack sizes. • The onion will be of quality (assorted quality) which will be of uniform shape and size. Groupon to approve. • Transportation • Assuming that there would be a lead time of approximately 20 minutes between 2 deliveries. • 1 Car = 36 deliveries approximately (12*60/20) • We would be needing 14 cars to deliver 500 kg

Managing the Logistics…2/3 • Packaging and warehousing - Packaging is included within the onion price which we are charging @67 Rs/kg. • Assuming that per packet would be between Rs (60-65)/kg and the rest would be the price of packaging and labeling. • Sticker to be designed by Salt n Soap and approved by Groupon. • Warehousing - We are collecting the onions at 7 in the morning from Metro Cash and Carry, therefore we wouldn’t be bearing any kind of warehousing cost.

Managing the Logistics….3/3 • Man power - Every car would be accompanied by 1 person who would be having the details of delivery of onions. - They would be hired from professional security agency and each person would be hired for Rs 200/day for which the total cost comes to Rs 5600 (200*14*2).

  7. Delivery Format To ensure that the product is reached to the right person; • A notification message to be sent to the customer • Customer to produce the automatically generated Order ID while collecting the product. • Groupon to provide the list of Customers Order ID • Failed delivery list will be sent to Groupon at the end of each day. • After the second day, ‘saltnsoap’ would make 2 more attempts to deliver the product for the next 2 days, post which the materials will be discarded.
