  10. JCB’s Long term Investment • JCB are committed to sponsoring a £22M, • 14 – 19 ACADEMY at its World Headquarters

THE JCB ACADEMY WILL:- • Cater for 540 Students full time students • Specialise in Engineering, Manufacturing and International Business (with appropriate Diplomas) • Operate hours and holidays - similar to those of JCB • Recruit and train some teachers from Business and leading edge Engineering centres • Prepare the students for the ‘world of work’ • Plan to be a fully environmentally sustainable

We believe ‘the Diplomas’ will:- • Provide businesses with more young people who have an understanding and enthusiasm for Engineering, at all levels • Will provide the Practical skills combined with the Theory which JCB are looking for • Will provide young people with a better preparation for the “World of Work”

JCB’s view • “We believe the new Diplomas will provide an excellent route for young people, whatever their academic aspirations, to achieve qualifications that will prepare them for their future careers. As well as providing the knowledge and skills that business and industry require, they will also address the additional characteristics relating to employability, so essential to an individuals future success.”
