Students will have a weekly grade in this area. Each student will begin with a grade of 100. Ten points will be deducted for each day a student does not have his or her instrument and is unable to participate in class. Another alternate assignment will be assigned; however, this assignment will not be in place of the lost class points. Five points will be deducted if a student is missing any other item which hinders learning in class (reeds, drum sticks, notebook, etc). • Daily playing assignments and quizzes • Written assignments • Homework – 5% • Summative assessments – 50% • Final Exam/Concert Performance Attendance -10%
