  2. Why is this so important?Writing Assessment is 40% of your RLA Score WESTEST Score!You need to know how to write in the correct form.

  3. Earn tickets during your Writing Assessment time to be able to watch and/or compete in the grade level BMS Writing Assessment Olympics, (WAO).

  4. Ticket 1:AttendanceJust be here and ON TIME

  5. Ticket 2:Graphic OrganizerJust use a Graphic Organizer to organize your thoughts, brainstorm!

  6. Ticket 3:Rough DraftJust write a rough draft to help expand your graphic organizer.

  7. Ticket 4:TitleDon’t forget your TITLE!When you review it before submitting, check to make sure your title is still related.

  8. Ticket 5:Provide your audience with BACKGROUND INFORMATIONUse what is already given in your passage and prompt so the reader will know what you know!

  9. Ticket 6:THINK 55 Paragraphs/5 Sentences in each paragraph

  10. Ticket 7:Word ChoiceTransitions and Descriptive Words~~Must use them!!! Next Finally Describe it!

  11. Ticket 8:EffortYou need to truly TRY! Do not type a word or two and submit!

  12. Ticket 9:RubricUse the Rubric to score yourself, you might remember a few things when you do this!

  13. Ticket 10:ChecklistUse the Checklist to remind yourself of things you might have forgotten.

  14. Earn 8 tickets, you only get to watch.Earn all 10 tickets, you will get to try and compete!!Do you have what it takes to win?? To compete?? Take part in the fun!

  15. Tips:There is NO Spell Check! There is NO Autocorrect!There is NO dictionary!There is NO thesaurus!There will be no red/green/blue squiggly lines to let you know there is an error!!!

  16. Tips:You will be given a Passage and a Prompt. Please take your time and read the Passage because this is where your background information is coming from.
