Tasks • Harmonised methods/requirementsfor biokinetic investigation • A list of research groups that perform biokinetic studies including the contact person and a short description of the experimental design and studies nanomaterials will be compiled. • Review on recent biodistribution studies (work in progress) • Dave Spurgeon • Create summaries of key results for further use by the dissemination group (cooperation Working Group 7) • Revised to sharing summeries from scientific meetings • Members provide input for the NanoVision 2020 document • Teresa Fernandes NSC WG2 Hazard Indentification – 26 Feb 2013 Prague
Focus group: Immunosafety • Diana Boraschi, Albert Duschl and Bengt Fadeel • Involve the excellent immunological expertise in Europe: • DB chairing a workshop at the International Congress of Immunology August 2013 • Disseminate the concept of immunosafety among nanotoxicologists • DB and AD writing an “immunology manual for nanotoxicologists” (Elsevier) • BF and DB writing a chapter on nanoparticles and the immune system for the second edition of “Nanotoxicology” (Informa Healthcare) • David Pozo Pérez launching a series of Special Focus Papers on interaction between nanoparticles and immune system on Journal of Nanoparticle Research • DB & AD joining with the leaders of the Marine Ecotox Focus Group in a Opinion paper on immunity of environmental species as key issue of nano-ecotoxicology • DB and AD proposing a ESF/EMBO course of immunosafety of nanomaterials • DB delivering a lesson on immunosafety at the 4th Nanosafety School in March 2013 • Standardising immunosafety assays • Andrea Haase leading in Qnano the Task of immunoassay standardisation • Peter Hoet and DB developing and validating endotoxin assessment assays for nanoparticles NSC WG2 Hazard Indentification – 26 Feb 2013 Prague
