  1. Growth Table (Measured in millimeters.)

  2. Procedures Day 1 • Begin preparing CD cases. Cut the paper towels to fit into the CD cases. • Place paper towels in 6 of the CD cases. • Moisten the paper towels with an eyedropper. It should not be dry or dripping wet. • Place six seeds on the moist paper. • Close the CD cases. • Label the backs of all 6 CD cases 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 with permanent marker. Mark the 4 edges on the front side of each case: Up, Down, Left, and Right. • Cover paper plates with aluminum foil. • Fold aluminum foil into strips to make stands. Place the first two CD cases upright, with the up label at the top, on separate paper plates. • Place two more cases flat on two more paper plates. • Place the last two cases upright, with the Up label at the top, on two more paper plates.

  3. Day 2 • Put a drop of water on each seed with the eyedropper. • Take pictures of the cases. • Day 3 • Repeat steps 1-10 for cases 7-12. • Measure seeds in cases 1-6 with a ruler. Record the lengths onto a sheet of paper. • Moisten paper towels in cases 1-6 with an eyedropper. • Rotate cases 5 & 6. • Day 4 • Put a drop of water on each seed with the eyedropper. • Day 5 • Repeat steps 1-10 for cases 13-18. • Measure cases 1-12 with a ruler. Record the lengths onto a sheet of paper. • Moisten paper towels in cases 1-12 with an eyedropper. • Rotate cases 5, 6, 11, and 12.

  4. Day 6 • Put a drop of water on each seed with the eyedropper. • Day 7 • Measure cases 1-18 with a ruler. Record the lengths onto a sheet of paper. • Moisten paper towels in cases 1-18 with an eyedropper. • Rotate cases 5, 6, 11, 12, 17, and 18. • Day 8 • Put a drop of water on each seed with the eyedropper. • Day 9 • Measure cases 7-18 with a ruler. Record the lengths onto a sheet of paper. • Moisten paper towels in cases 1-18 with an eyedropper. • Rotate cases 11, 12, 17, and 18. • Day 10 • Put a drop of water on each seed with the eyedropper.

  5. Day 11 • Measure cases 13-18 with a ruler. Record the lengths onto a sheet of paper. • Moisten paper towels in cases 1-18 with an eyedropper. • Rotate cases 17, and 18.
