Grasshopper Facts • A grasshopper can hop ten times faster than any other insect running. • It pushes with its back legs to put power in its front legs to spring into the air. • It can jump 20-30 times its own length by a standing start. • Without its back legs a grasshopper couldn’t hop. • They are clumsy at walking that’s why their legs are for jumping.

  5. There are over 500 kinds of grasshoppers in the world. • Grasshoppers can be really destructive to plants. • When they eat they mostly migrate to a patch of grass. • In 1874 hundreds of Grasshoppers invaded The grasslands of Kansas.
