  1. Summer School Survey To teach effectively, I need to know you quickly. Answering in detail will help me meet this goal.

  2. Survey • Name on paper (first and last) • 1. Tell me about yourself. (interests, where you live, how you get here daily, etc) • 2. Tell me what I need to know about you to teach you best. (location in room, what you do when something is difficult, what do you when you don’t understand)

  3. Survey • 3. Describe the classroom in which you learn best. (level of noise, blurting, interruptions, do you need silence to read and think) • 4. Technology is a large part of this class. Describe your level of technology understanding. Have you used Moodle before? Prezi? Wiki?

  4. Survey • 5. A person you can sit next to and learn with. • 6. A person you would rather not sit next to because you have difficulty learning near that person. • 7. If you know what part of reading is hard for you, tell me what I need to know: figuring out words, understanding word meanings, understanding what you read, remembering what you read, understanding questions,

Obtaining Credit • Attend - Mrs. Manske will make a decision who gets credit based on your attendance by the hour not by the day. • Complete two major projects: • Group - collaborative project using WIKI - choice of text today • Personal reading improvement plan - adding to this daily • Complete daily work • Select five unknown important vocabulary words from your reading

  6. Notebook - Journal • Use a sticky note to separate notes from response section of notebook • Notebooks from teacher if you do not have a one for this class.
