  1. Los bosques termófilos They are situated above the coordinates of the tabaibal cardonal-forest ecosystems (300-500 m.)

  2. Los bosques termófilos Currently, we can find good representations of these ecosystems only in the least populated islands such as La Gomera and El Hierro.

  3. Los bosques termófilos In these ecosystems, the environmental characteristics are moderate temperatures, 16-18 º C, the best water conditions and fertile soils.

  4. Los bosques termófilos Different groups of plant communities form a diverse ecosystem:

  5. Los bosques termófilos • Mastic trees (Pistacia lenticus and Pistacia atlantica) • Palm trees (Phoenix canariensis) • Dragon trees (Dracaena draco) • Wild olive trees (Olea europeae) • Shrubs such as blackwood (Hypericum canariensis), the stinking (Bose yerbamora) and jasmine (Jazminum odoratissimum)

  6. Las palmeras (Phoenix canarienis)

  7. El drago (Dracaena draco)

  8. Acebuche (Olea europeae)

  9. In terms of fauna there are numerous reptiles such as “la lisa” (Chalcides simonyi) and birds. The most common birds are “el mosquitero” (Phylloscopus sp) or “mirlo” (Turdus merula). There are also prey birds such as the hawk (Buteo buteo insularum) or the owl (Bubo bubo).

  10. La lisa(Chalcides simonyi)

  11. El mirlo (Turdus merula)
