    4. Exemption levels Radiation Council in 2002. Nuclear Safety Commission in 2003. Approved by the Cabinet on May 25, 2004. Adaptation of exemption levels proposed by BSS may create new problems in inventory of sources that were classified to be not radioactive materials now.

    6. Radioactive waste management No permanent disposal site. Temporary disposal site is also in hot debate. No clearance level. Under discussion in the Nuclear Safety Commission Japan Nuclear Fuel Limited will accept some spent fuels from NPPs. Japan Radioisotope Association and JAERI receive radioactive waste and store them in their premises.
