Examples of Gymnosperms • Conifers – pines and spruces • Cycads • Ginkgoes • Gnetophytes
Angiosperms • Have flowers • Advantages • Attract animals - (bees, moths hummingbirds) to transport pollen from flower to flower • Don’t rely on wind for pollination
Angiosperms • Flowers • Contain ovaries –surround and protect the seed • Ovary becomes a fruit • Surrounds the seed • Animal eats the fruit, seeds pass through the digestive system, seeds are deposited
Examples of Angiosperms • Grasses • Flowering trees and shrubs • Wildflowers and cultivated flowers
