  2. Today’s Objectives and Bell-Ringer Objectives Given MicroType Pro, TSW key alphabetic information emphasizing home row keys, with a goal of 45 GWAM. (BUS6161.038) Bell-Ringer Copy objective - no questions to copy. Don’t forget to list “3 Things You Learned Today” at the bottom of the page and turn in by the end of class. Log on to computers and wait for instruction.

  3. Today MicroType Pro Setup MicroType Pro Lesson(s) Turn in any completed work

  4. If you have a Microtype Pro icon on the desktop, double-click it. If you don’t, go to the next slide.

  5. 4 – Click on MicroType Pro 3 – Click on South-Western Keyboarding 2 – Click on Programs 1 – Click on the start button

  6. When you see this, click it or wait for the login screen to come up.

  7. Click on New User

  8. 1 – Enter your name 2 – In Class ID, enter SHULTZ (it will be all caps) 3 – In Password, enter class

  9. Click the folder icon next to Data

  10. Click the arrow to see more drives

  11. Click on your Z drive

  12. Click on OK

  13. You should see your name, the Class ID, your password, and Z:\ for your data drive. If it is all correct, click on OK

  14. You are now on the Microtype Pro main screen. Click on Quit to exit the program.

  15. Double-click the Microtype Pro icon to re-start the program.

  16. Click on Locate

  17. Click on the arrow next to Drives and select your Z drive.

  18. Click on OK.

  19. Your name should be highlighted. Click on OK.

  20. Enter your password (class) and click on OK.

  21. You are back to the Microtype Pro main screen. We will be doing all of the lessons, starting with Alphabetic Keyboarding, then Numeric Keyboarding, then Numeric Keypad, and finishing with Keyboarding Skill Builder.

  22. Click on the A button in Alphabetic Keyboarding.

  23. There are 20 lessons, including the Reviews. You will do all lessons in each section.

  24. At the end of each lesson, you will see a report that tells you how well you did. Click on the Print button, print a copy and turn it in to get credit for the lesson.

  25. Click on Print

  26. If “205 – HP LaserJet 4000 Series PS” is not the printer, click on the arrow and select it. Click on OK, get it from the printer and turn it in.

  27. Click on number one to begin the first lesson, Learn Home Row.

  28. Follow directions and complete all of the steps.

  29. Complete as many lessons as you can today.

  30. MicroType Pro When done with each lesson, print report and turn in Setup instructions are available on the DIT page
