  5. The air distributor usually has many pilot valves, one for each cylinder. the distributor opens the air start valves . Automatic Valve – Stops air going back to the air receivers Merchant Marine Training Centre

  15. Fuel Oil System process First, fuel oil comes from the fuel tank and passes through filters before it enters the supply pumps. From the supply pumps the fuelpasses through more filters Fuel is pumped via a meter so that the quantity of fuel used can be observed Please note: Noun / Verb Merchant Marine Training Centre

Fuel then passes to a buffer tank where it mixes with fuel that has returned from the engine From the buffer tank fuel oil circulating pumps pump it to the heaters and to the engine The oil is heated and the temperature of the oil is controlled by a viscosity measuring device. After the heater and before finally going to the main engine inlet rail the fuelpasses through more filters to ensure that there is nodirt which could damage the fuel pumps, injectors and cylinder liner. From the main engine inlet rail the fuelenters the fuel pump (one per cylinder). The fuel pump delivers the fuelto the fuel injector.
