2. VERIFY • Verify what he or she wants to be called. • The name tag may be wrong or too formal.
3. THE FOREHEAD! • Imagine the name written on their forehead--silly ideas can produce positive results! • Franklin Roosevelt did this—and amazed many!
4. IMAGINE WRITING THEIR NAME • Experts suggest that seeing yourself write the name improves remembering the name!
5. RELATE THE NAME • Associate the name with an image or famous person.
6. USE NAME • Use their name frequently—3 or 4 times during the conversation.
7. RECORD THE NAME • Create a “new contacts” file and jot down notes about the person, place, and conversation.
WHAT ABOUTA NAME TAG? • Print your name using a bold colored pen and large print. • Place your tag on your right shoulder.
WHAT IF YOU FORGET LATER ON? • Look delighted to see the person, lock eyes, extend a warm “good to see you again” expression and handshake. Ask someone later. OR
