PEPID is and electronic database of more than 2,700 clinicial topics maintained by FPIN staff. • eMedRef writing projects teach concepts in Evidence Based Medicine and meet RRC requirements. • eMedRef topics are peer reviewed publications • eMedRef writing projects are published in PEPID Primary Care Plus. • Authors receive a 12 month subscription to PEPID.

  3. Author to Complete eMedRef Topic Typical Time Commitment: 10-15 Hours per topic over 8-10 weeks

  5. Choosing a Topic

  6. If you already have a profile set up, just log in. • If you do not have one, then set up your profile by going to the top of the page and clicking on “Register”. Use your email address as the username and change the generic password to fpin. After you have registered your profile, you will get a confirmation email with your information. • If you have any problems or questions, please contact Denise Hooton at denise@fpin.org or by calling 573-256-2066.

  9. Third page of process, log in if you already have a profile. If not then set up profile first by going to the top and clicking on “Register”

  10. Fourth page of sign-up process. Just click on “Start Over”

  11. Fifth page of sign-up process. You will need to read the agreements and click in both boxes, type in your fill name and select a topic from the drop down box as well as a due date,. Finally, click “submit”.

  12. After a topic has been chosen, you will receive a confirmation email with detailed instructions. • You will receive your senior editor information within 30 days. If you have questions sooner, contact Denise.

  13. Now that a topic has been chosen, go to PEPID online, pepidonline.com. Username is fpinauthor & password is pepidpcp. • Become familiar with the product. • If you choose an update topic, copy and paste out the original material into a word document. • When you are ready to get started, go to the next powerpoint module.
