10. P. 94#1. What is a BMI? BMI = Benthic Macroinvertebrates
Benthic = bottom dweller
Macro = can be seen with the naked eye
Invertebrate = no backbone
11. #2. Why are they indicators? Why look at them? BMIs are sampled as a means of assessing both habitat and water quality.
Population Fluctuations: varied life spans range from a few months to many years-this allows Biologists to evaluate the full effects of intermittent and continuous pollutants
