The Vespa originated from a single model motor scooter developed by Piaggio & Co. in 1946. S.p. Vespa scooters have been renowned since their introduction for their painted, pressed steel unibody, which incorporates a full engine cowling (enclosing the engine mechanism and concealing dirt or grease), a flat floorboard (providing foot protection) and a conspicuous front covering (providing wind protection) in a single structural unit.

  3. After World War II, Italy had its aircraft industry significantly reduced in both production and production, in spite of its decision to cease war activities with the Allies. Piaggio emerged from the dispute with his bombing-based Pontedera bomber aircraft factory.
