  2. TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP • Active - enrolled in a secondary agricultural education program. (grades 7-12) • Alumni - former active members, collegiate and honorary members, present and former professional agricultural educators, parents of FFA members, and others interested in and supportive of the FFA.

  3. TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP • Collegiate - open to students enrolled in agricultural courses or who are pursuing career objectives in agriculture at a two year or four year college having a collegiate FFA chapter. • Honorary - farmers, school superintendents, principals, members of boards of education,chapter advisors,teachers, staff

  4. TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP • Honorary cont. - members in agricultural education, business people, and others who are helping to advance agricultural education and the FFA and who have rendered outstanding service, may be elected to honorary membership by a majority vote of the members present at any regular meeting.

  5. DEGREES OF MEMBERSHIP • Greenhand Degree • Chapter Degree • State FFA Degree • American FFA Degree

  6. GREENHAND DEGREE • Enrolled in agricultural education and have a plans for a supervised agricultural experience program • Learn and explain the FFA Creed, Motto, Salute, and FFA Mission Statement • Describe and explain the meaning of the FFA emblem and colors

  7. GREENHAND DEGREEREQUIREMENTS • Demonstrate a knowledge of the FFA Code of Ethics and the proper use of the FFA jacket • Demonstrate a knowledge of the history of the organization, the chapter constitution and bylaws, and the chapter Program of Activities

  8. GREENHAND DEGREEREQUIREMENTS • Personally own or have access to the Official FFA Manual and the FFA StudentHandbook • Submit written application for the Greenhand FFA Degree

  9. CHAPTER FFA DEGREE • Must have received the Greenhand FFA Degree • Must have completed at least 180 hours of school instruction in agricultural education at or above the ninth grade level, have in operation an approved supervised agricultural experience program, and be enrolled in an agricultural education course.

  10. CHAPTER DEGREE CONT. • Have participated in at least three official function in the chapter Program of Activities • Have earned and productively invested at least 150.00 or worked at least forty-five hours in excess of class time, or a combination thereof, and have developed plans for growth and improvement in an SAE program.

  11. CHAPTER DEGREE CONT. • Have effectively led a group discussion for 15 minutes • Have demonstrated five procedures of parliamentary law • Show progress toward individual achievement in the FFA award programs

  12. CHAPTER DEGREE CONT. • Have a satisfactory scholastic record • Submit a written application for the Chapter FFA Degree • Other requirements may be established by the local chapter

  13. STATE FFFA DEGREE • Received the chapter degree • Completed two years of agricience/active in FFA also. • Earned/invested 1000.00 or worked 300 hrs outside of class in an sae program

  14. STATE DEGREE (CONT.) • Demonstrated leadership ability by : • Performing 10 procedures of parlimentary law • Give a six minute speech on and FFA/Ag topic • Serve as an FFA officer or served on a committee

  15. STATE FFA (CONT) • Have a satisfactory scholastic record • Participated in the completion of the chapter program of activities • Participate in at least 5 activities above the chapter level

  16. AMERICAN FFA DEGREE • Hold the state FFA degree • Active member for 3 yrs/completed 3 yrs of agriscience • Graduated from high school at least 12 months prior

  17. AMERICAN FFA DEGREE (CONT) • Earned/invested 7,500. From SAE program • Achieved a GPA of 2.0 and recommended by the principal • Record of outstanding leadership and community involvement
