Unique User IDs Make sure students log on with a unique user ID so you (and their partners) can track their work.
Color Coding Input See at a glance the contributions each partner has made to a page by directing students to color code their contributions and edits.
Discussion Features • A discussion or “talk” page allows threaded discussions, like an online discussion board. • Encourage students to collaborate using these tools so you can gauge their level of participation as a team.
Checking the Wiki History Compare versions and edits made to the wiki to see who made how many and what kinds of changes to the page over time.
Checking the Wiki History With a record of only one person’s editing, this team has failed to demonstrate collaborative work.
Use Wikis Effectively • In order to use wikis effectively, collaborators must take individual responsibility as well as joint responsibility for developing the wiki site. • When needed, use the wiki history to “recover” lost data. • Enhance your wiki collaboration experience with real-time conversations on Skype, chat, iPad FaceTime, or phone.
